Muriel first attacks Gretel and Hansel in her castle. She fools them into thinking that she is a child and they believe her claims that a witch has enchanted them. However, they kill her and rescue their sister. Next, Muriel kidnaps Hansel, who is found by an older witch. Hansel is imprisoned in a cage, and it is found out that he will die if left alone. Gretel is shown to be unable to save him due to her diabetes. Gretel then visits Morfeus, a witch who is Muriel's older sister. Gretel confronts Muriel and learns that they are each other's sisters. Hansel is rescued from the witch's lair by Mina, who is a witch. She rescues him and tells him that they have to leave Morfeus' castle before it is filled with spells. They are captured by Muriel's troll, Edward, in a ballroom. Edward has been told to kill them. Edward kills Morfeus and Hansel kills Edward with a potion that he has been holding on him all along. They return to Morfeus' castle. They tell Muriel that she can no longer destroy their home.
Gretel is approached by a witch who gives her a potion. Later, she encounters Mina, who has left Morfeus' castle. They fight, but Mina forgives Gretel and they make up. Mina tells her and Hansel of her plan to save Hansel from being sick by taking him to the Gingerbread house. Hansel is captured by Muriel and Mina. Gretel returns to Mina's cabin and learns of Mina's plan to save Hansel's life.
Gretel and Hansel escape Muriel's castle. Edward, who was not killed, arrives, and is told by Hansel that he is being cursed by Muriel. Hansel tells Edward of a witch's lair that he has been given the potion. Edward rushes to the lair and is captured by Muriel. Edward is healed and told of the fate of his child, who will die a death of starvation if he does not destroy the lair. He agrees to help destroy the lair. Mina rescues Hansel and Gretel and tells them that they have to leave quickly as Muriel and her army are on their way.
